What Is The Law of Attraction? How To Use The Law of Attraction to Achieve Your Goals
The law of attraction (LOA) is a simple yet powerful phenomenon that dictates what happens to us in our lives. The LOA asserts that positive thoughts lead to self-fulfilling positive outcomes, while negative thoughts lead to self-fulfilling negative outcomes. You are in control of your own destiny.
This short guide will teach you the basics to get started.
Quick intro
The human mind has a tendency to view uncertainty of the future with negative, fear-based thoughts. Perhaps you have thought about the reasons something might not work out, and placed your thought energy on avoiding that outcome. This mentality is in opposition to focusing on why things will most definitely work out successfully.
Learn to think more positively, and your life will change quickly. You will start to see all kinds of positive outcomes happen for you. That's what happened to me. The law of attraction is always impacting you, so let's learn how it works and how you can practice it to achieve your goals.
Section 1: Always expect positive outcomes
Practicing the LOA is comes down to thinking positively about your future. The law of attraction states that the universe will respond to every thought you have: good or bad. You don't have to be perfect, but if you consistently think about what you lack and what bad things might happen to you, those outcomes will continue to materialize. Instead, think about how grateful you are for everything you have and how perfectly things are presently working out for you.
Method 1: Negativity reversal
Many high achievers experience negative thoughts on their path to achieving their goals. Maybe they're complaining about their current situation or doubting their game plan. When you catch yourself in a negative thought, stop yourself and state the exact opposite. This will often involve speaking about things that haven't happened yet, but saying that they've already occurred successfully in your favor.
My challenge to you: Think about a negative thought you often have and say the opposite right now. What's a doubt you have about your future?
Example: "I'm going to run out of money." versus "I have money coming to me regularly, easily and effortlessly."
Method 2: Positive affirmations
Making positive statements to ourselves helps us break through emotional blockages that may have previously prevented us from achieving our desired outcomes. The key to making affirmations work is to really believe them deep down when you say them, and to feel positive emotions. At first you might feel like you're lying to yourself when you say certain affirmations, but by repeating them with a focus on opening yourself up to them physically and emotionally, you'll quickly come into acceptance with the positive beliefs.
My challenge to you: Repeat these 10 affirmations to yourself out loud.
- "I love myself"
- "I am successful"
- "People respect me"
- "I am worthy of happiness"
- "Life is easy for me"
- "I feel deeply fulfilled with my life"
- "I have so many opportunities"
- "My life is working out perfectly"
- "My income is growing"
- "I am a genuine, giving person"
Method 3: Practicing gratitude
Most people underestimate the power of gratitude. In fact, they completely disregard it as anything more than a cheesy quote on coffee mugs. The fact is that practicing gratitude is the easest way to attract positive events in our lives. Spend more time closing your eyes and being thankful for every single thing in your life. If you notice you're complaining about something you lack, discontinue that thought train and find something to be grateful for. One trick is to actually memorize the physical traits of gratitude. Anyone who meditates regularly will be able to do this. You can then "force" your body into a state of gratitude whenever you're feeling negative.
My challenge to you: Spend 5 minutes thinking about everything you're grateful for in your present life.

Section 2: LOA exercises
Now that we've established fundamental methods for positive thinking, let's move onto exercises that will help you practice the law of attraction. Many of the techniques used are unconventional, but you'll quickly see how transformative they are for your life.
Method 1: Visualizations
This is the cornerstone of practicing LOA. Visualization exercises involve visualizing your current goals as having already been achieved, and living that life out as vividly as possible in your mind. You can practice visualization by closing your eyes, thinking about a goal you want to achieve, and then picturing scenes from your life with that goal achieved. Feel it as if it's real in the present moment. Notice small details of the scene you're in, such as the design and feeling of furniture in the room, the smell around you and the people who are there with you. Focus on experiencing the outcome, and don't worry about the process to getting there.
My challenge to you: Spend 10 minutes visualizing three goals you have. My YouTube meditation for positive thinking can help you with that.
Method 2: Conversation with the mirror
To achieve the things that most people don't achieve, you must do things that most people don't do. That is certainly the case with this second method, which despite the fact that it would make most people uncomfortable, is an extremely effective method for quick self-development and practicing the LOA. Try practicing having a conversation with yourself in the mirror. Look at yourself in the eyes and see if you can smile while doing it. Feel any tension? Let that go while practicing this exercise. You can talk to yourself about anything. Ask yourself for advice. Give yourself a pep talk if you're feeling insecure about something. Practice that important conversation you're going to have later today. Talking to yourself may feel uncomfortable at first, but this method will help you overcome emotional blockages so you can become a better leader and happier person all around.
My challenge to you: Practice giving a motivational speech in the mirror for 5 minutes, and smile. It's okay if it feels awkward the first time.

Method 3: Vision boards
Vision boards are a physical extension of visualiations that include inspirational images and phrases aligned with your intentions and where you want to go in life. Usually put together on a posterboard, they include a collage of images that may include the house you want to live in, places you want to go, things you want to achieve, work out goals and literally anything that defines your ideal future. You can also include phrases that reflect gratitude, achievement and anything that inspires you. Once you put together a vision board, you may notice that you have an emotional disconnect from certain items on it. This becomes an opportunity to heal yourself of the underlying emotional blockage by practicing visualization exercises and affirmations.
My challenge to you: Find one image that you'd put on a vision board and save it somewhere.
